Description
A Project Manager will lead unique and challenging projects in the heavy civil/marine construction industry. The role requires creative problem-solving, teamwork, and a focus on delivering quality projects.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will oversee budgeting, billing, invoice approval, change order negotiations, scheduling, crew coordination, weekly meetings with the owner, cost forecasting, and ensuring project safety. Ideal candidates will have experience in heavy civil, structural, or marine construction, and a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management is preferred. A strong background in project management, AutoCAD, estimating, cost control, and scheduling is required.

Description
The Field Engineer is responsible for providing onsite value and assistance in routine project administration, scheduling, and engineering for a variety of projects in heavy civil/marine construction. This role will report to the Senior Project Manager and will work closely with the project management team to plan, coordinate, and manage on-site construction and facilitate the work of subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- Track project reports (logs, equipment, safety, schedules, budgets) and supervise subcontractors, addressing on-site issues promptly.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, drafting, and administration teams to meet project goals on time and within budget, with regular senior management reviews.
- Oversee safety and risk management processes while staying current on industry trends through professional organizations.
Description
The Project & Finance Admin is responsible for performing key accounting functions, including financial, clerical, and administrative. They will also support the daily operations of the office, including multi-line phone systems, guest reception, and filing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can multitask and is detail-oriented.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, tax filing, contract administration, general ledger reconciliations, quarterly reporting, and monthly sales tax reports.
- Provide administrative support to management, including document formatting, scheduling meetings and conference rooms, and handling special projects or duties as assigned.
Description
As an Intern, you will have responsibilities similar to those of our full-time entry-level field engineers. This will provide you with a glimpse into what a career as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Manager might entail. Interns are assigned to a project manager and placed on a project that best aligns with their knowledge and experience.

The Carpenter Pile Driver/Diver installs and secures foundations for large structures by driving piles into the ground or underwater. This role requires advanced carpentry skills and, when needed, underwater diving to support marine construction projects

An Operating Engineer operates and maintains heavy construction equipment, including cranes, bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders. This skilled role ensures equipment is operated safely and efficiently on construction or industrial projects.
Advanced American Construction Internship Program
For Advanced American Construction’s internship program, we focus on quality over quantity. Each year we foster a small group of interns ranging from 1-4 students. Internships are offered to both High School Seniors entering college and active undergraduate students pursuing degrees in Construction Engineering Management or other related degrees.

Is this internship paid?
Yes, we offer paid internships.
How long does the internship last?
2-3 months, depending on school schedule.
Do I need previous construction experience to apply for this internship?
No. You do not need previous experience to intern with us. Experience can, however, help during your interview process.
What is the best time to apply for an internship with AAC?
Most construction companies typically seek their interns during the Fall. We encourage you to reach out at any time to learn more about our company. While we are open to accepting interns in the Spring, we usually fill our positions in the Fall and Winter.
Will I need to travel?
Yes, you will need to be able to get to and from your jobsite. Travel expenses will be accommodated.
What if I have a scheduled vacation over the summer?
Majority of the time, vacations can be accommodated as long as notice is given in a timely manner.
Will I have the opportunity to get industry certifications?
Yes, after pre-authorization, we will accommodate.
