"On the north side of Yaquina Bay, contractor Advanced American Construction will next week remobilize the crew replacing the Port Dock 5 pier. "On the north side of Yaquina Bay, contractor Advanced American Construction will next week remobilize the crew replacing the Port Dock 5 pier. Workers spent February driving new pilings, building a temporary walkway to maintain shore access to around 80 commercial vessels that moor at Dock 5, and removing the wooden decking.
On-location work was on hold during March while the contractor fabricated the new, concrete deck. Bretz said crews are scheduled to be back at the site April 12 to cut pilings and install top plates, cap beams and bracing. The concrete deck sections are scheduled to arrive at the International Terminal April 19, where they’ll be loaded onto the contractor’s barge and transported to the dock for installation."
